Taking Golf Lessons

When you are starting out in golf, it is a good idea to take some golf lessons. Learning how to swing a club properly is important and will serve as a good foundation to swing mechanics. Golf lessons are also good when you hit a plateau, that is when you feel you are not improving or your score inches up every time you play. Golfers will make little adjustments to their swing as the season goes on and if they're not careful, they will deviate from the fundamentals and eventually, their swing will go astray. The only solution for them to get their game back is to seek golf instruction.
For beginners, the most economical way to learn golf is to sign up for public golf classes or group lessons. Check with local city courses or government subsidized programs for these golf training lessons. The second most economical golf instruction is semi-private golf lessons or shared golf lessons. This is where an instructor will take on two or more students at the same time, set each of you in a stall and try to split their time between the group.
Private golf instruction is expensive but you get dedicated time from an instructor. Also from experience, private golf instructors have the best golf training aids. And yes, they use golf alignment sticks and golf training mats to help your alignment and swing path. Don't sign up for private golf lessons if you're just starting out. It's better to use a private instructor to improve your swing or to learn how to adjust your swing to gain distance or alter the ball flight.

Be warned that golf lessons may break your swing at first. But if you keep at it, the new swing will emerge and it will become second nature. After each lesson, take notes and practice, practice, practice. When you think you had enough practice, take a rest then practice so more. Don't attempt to play a round unless you want to be frustrated. Your new swing may work for a few shots but it only takes one bad shot to bring your hopes down. Most people who have taken golf lessons would agree with me that it will take at least a season before you will reap the rewards of a new swing.
