Attending a PGA Tour Event

Wouldn't it be cool to attend the Masters? Or the Players' Championship? Or the American Express in La Quinta, California? If you haven't been to a PGA Tour event then you're missing out a lot. Don't think for a moment that watching it on television is the same because it isn't. When you watch it on television, you're only watching about 5% of what goes on. It's better to watch it in person and take in the culture that comes with the territory.
If you're lucky enough to live in the area where a PGA Tour event occurs then it is easy-peasy for you to attend. Find out where you can park. Most events have designated parking lots where spectators are expected to park at. Patrons are usually shuttled in to the venue where the tournament is played. The American Express for example is usually played on three courses in the PGA West facility. The parking lot is situated on Jefferson Street near the PGA West entrance. Once parked, it is a short walk to the corner where buses will shuttle you around the three courses. Tickets to the event are usually available at the gate but to save some money, it is better to buy tickets in advance from the event website. Also, depending on the event, tickets may sell out. Tickets don't usually sell out at the American Express but in the last few years, tickets come close to selling out because of the rock bands that play at the venue after the tournament rounds.
Attending a practice round is fun. Grab a program, buy a cap or a flag and get it autographed. Practice rounds are a way for you to get close to your favorite player. Get a selfie with Justin Thomas or an autograph from Tony Finau.
